Relationships and Responsibility

The Q-House involves the community as much as possible to develop our student’s values of relationship building, community building and responsibility. During the past five years, students volunteered over 25,000 hours to community organizations and faith-based groups that were selected to allow students to work hand-in-hand with other volunteers, while developing respect, empathy and compassion.

These organizations include: Carson Valley Inn, Minden Meat & Deli, Boys & Girls Club, Town of Genoa, the Death Ride, Bike the West cycling events, the town of Gardnerville, Austin House, Locks of Love and 4-H.

Community Advisory Board

The mission of the Community Advisory Board (CAB) is to enhance the success of Nevada & California youth through the development of the Q-House’s organizational relationships, establishment of mutually beneficial business partnerships and increased community awareness.

Members of the CAB provide their professional expertise; their diverse knowledge and perspectives; their connections to local, national and international resources, colleagues and peers; their philanthropic support and their time and energy to support the mission and vision of the Q-House.

CAB Members include: Scott Schlick, Curtis Fong and William Penzel.

Partnerships

The Q-House has formed partnerships with several community entities to increase the number of opportunities for our students to learn, grow and succeed. These partnerships enrich every aspect of our program and help us to fulfill our mission to improve the lives of youth, families and communities.
